Our loving garden has been very good to us lately. All this rain has made me work more (not only sweet, edible, lovlies grow when watered... wouldn´t that be grrrreat!?) but it has payed off wonderfully. Chard, lettuce, spinach, coriander, camomile and radish. Tomatoes and carrots on their way! Today we ate mainly from our garden. Everything seems to be in full bloom and apparently the flowers have also joined the party. Magnolias. Roses. And those amazing red watchamacallits. All showing off how generous and miraculous mother nature can be. I´m in love. Now I just wish our chickens would get back to laying eggs (the price of egg here has risen horribly and it seems ridiculouse to have these ladies sitting around on their feathery bee-hinds doing nothing all day long!)
Nuestro precioso jardín ha sido muy bueno con nosotros últimamente. Toda esta lluvia me ha hecho trabajar más (no solo lo sabrosamente comestible crece al ser regado... no sería genial?!?!) pero ha valido la pena. Acelga, lechuga, espinaca, cilantro, manzanilla y rábano. ¡Tomates y zanahorias en camino! Hoy comimos en gran parte de nuestro huerto. Todo parece estar floreciendo y aparentemente las flores se han unido a la fiesta. Magnolias. Rosas. Y esas flores rojas que no me preguntes como se les llama. Todas presumen lo generosa y milagrosa que puede ser la madre tierra. Estoy enamorada. Ahora solo desearía que nuestras gallinas despertaran y volvieran a poner huevos (el precio del huevo se ha disparado aquí y ¡parece ridículo tener a estas señoras sentadas sobre sus gordos y plumosos traseros sin hacer nada!)
