my little book worm / mi pequeña come libros

her favorite time of day? bed time. that´s when she can cuddle in bed with a book. she used to ask for me to read to her every night, but now that she´s 7, she comes home from school everyday, excited to show me her "book of the day". she brings a different one back from the "class library" every single day, and even though i try to tell her that there´s no hurry, that she should take her time with each book, she dives into the story and won´t stop until she finds out "what happens at the very end!" i am amazed and delighted by the respect and love she has developed for books, and the wonder with which she opens each one, smelling it´s pages, just like her mama does. i guess all those bedtime stories turned this little one into a bookworm. 

¿su momento favorito del día? la hora de dormir. ahí es donde puede acurrucarse en su cama con un libro. solía pedirme que le leyera todas las noches, pero ahora que tiene 7, regresa de la escuela todos los días emocionada por enseñarme su "libro del día". trae uno diferente de la "biblioteca del salón" cada día de la semana, y aunque intento hacerle entender que no hay prisa, que se puede tomar su tiempo con cada libro, se sumerge en el cuento y no para de leer hasta que "descubre lo que pasa hasta el final!" estoy maravillada y encantada por el respeto y amor que ha desarrollado por los libros, y el asombro con el que abre cada uno, oliendo sus páginas, como lo hace mamá. supongo que todos esos cuentos antes de ir a dormir hicieron de esta niña una criatura-come-libros.
