So iron the seams flat and then iron again so you end up with the seams on the sides.

Sow close to the edges, just to make it a bit sturdier (remember laptops aren´t that light).

Make a "sandwich"... put the two fabrics together, right sides facing, and stick the "guata" in the middle (sorry, I really have no idea how you translate that: puffy stuff that comes rolled up but doesn´t fall apart when handled). Pin together so that it won´t move. Note: This is a shorter version, easier to take pictures of, yours should look way longer.

Ahora para la bolsa. Has un "sandwich"... pon las dos telas, anverso contra anverso, y coloca la guata, previamente cortada, entre ellas. Fija con alfilers para evitar que se mueva. Nota: Ésta es una versión más corta, más fácil de tomarle fotos, el tuyo debe ser mucho más largo.Sow from one corner aaalllll the way to the other corner of the long rectangular "sandwich" you now have. Then fold (be careful to leave the color you want on the outside facing inward). Sow the two sides closed, leaving the "top" open. Turn "inside out", grab some extra fabric or basting to finish off the "top" (where the laptop slides into the bag).

Coce de una esquina hasta la ooootra esquina de este largo y rectangular "sandwich" que ahora tienes. Después dobla (cuida dejar el color que quieres que quede por fuera en la parte de adentro). Coce los dos lados, dejando la parte de arriba sin cocer. Voltea la bolsa, agarra algo de tela que hay sobrado o bies para el acabado de la parte superior de la bolsa (por donde entra la laptop).

Pin the arm strap onto the side of the bag (where the seam is), it´s going to be a bit wide, that´s so you can ruffle it up just a bit and give it a little poofy femenine touch. Sow it on TWICE. Don´t sow twice in the same place, one on top and one slightly below the first one. This will give it extra support.

Fija el "mango" a los costados de la bolsa (donde se encuentran las costuras) con alfileres. Vas a encontrar que es algo ancho, esto es para permitir dos pinzas pequeñas y darle un toque femenino. Cocelo DOS VECES en su lugar. No repitas las costuras en el mismo logar (aunque si le debes de dar varias repasadas a cada una),haslo una ves arriba y otra ves ligeramente debajo del primero. Esto le dará soporte extra.

Take a very long strip of fabric (same one you used for the exterior), and cut it 9 inches wide. Leave it long. Fold in half (right sides facing), you´ll now have a long strip about 4 1/2 inches wide. Pin in place. Sow long side together, leaving ends open. Turn "right side out". Start hand sowing on to the front of your bag (I placed small felt pocket on the back of the bag for the laptop cables and connection stuff), ruffling as you go. Start in the middle, makeing your way around the place where you started. Don´t ruffle in an even manner, this way it´ll look a bit more "natural", and it´ll give it moore poof. At this stage you can go as far as you want. Make the flower as big and as poofy as your heart desires. I put a small leave to one side. Go crazy!

Toma una tira de tela muy larga (de la misma tela que usaste para el exterior de la bolsa) y cortalo de 23cm de ancho. Dejalo largo. Dobla a la mitad (anverso contra anverso), en este punto tendrás una tira de como 11.5cm de ancho. Fija con alfileres. Coce el lado largo, dejando los dos extremos abiertos. Voltéalo. Comienza a cocer a mano a la parte del frente de tu bolsa (yo coloque un bolsillo de fieltro en la parte de atrás para los cables de la laptop), ve pinzando conforme avances. Comienza en el centro, y ve girando alrededor de ese punto abriendo camino. No recomiendo crear pinzas de manera pareja, ve inventando, así le darás una apariencia más "natural". Esto también le dará más volumen. A estas alturas puedes llevar la flor tan lejos como quieras, hazlo tan grande y pachona como se te antoje. ¡Atrevete!

Teddy Bear Tutorial / Tutorial Osito

This teddy bear with tutu and pearls was made out of linen (not recomendable). I would suggest cotton. The flower on it´s ear is made from antique veil with a pearl in the middle. The arms and legs are attatched to the bear with buttons. To see pattern and tutorial scroll all the way to the bottom.

Este osito con tutú y perlas fue hecho de lino (no lo recomiendo). Yo sugeriría usar algodón. La flor en su oreja está hecha de tul antiguo con una perla en el centro. Los brazos y piernas fueron unidos al cuerpo con botones. Encontrarás el patrón y tutoría al final del texto y las fotos.

I found this beautiful and impractical linen in my mother´s closet...it had teddy bear written all over it!

Encontré este hermoso y poco práctico lino en el closet de mi mamá...gritaba por convertirse en osito!

Teddy Bear Tutorial
English versión:
First and foremost, please forgive the patterns I used, hand traced with my terrible late night pulse, and terrible handwriting as well. Hope it´s not too bad!
You will need:
1. Approximately 1x1 meter of fabric
2. 4 buttons (12mm in diameter, aprox.)
3. Eyes, or cute buttons will do
4. Filling
5. 1m Ribbon for the bow (or go crazy with necklaces and dresses!)
6. Long upholstery needle
Let´s get to work:
1. Print 2 sets of patterns just in case. Trace each piece of Teddy on to a tracing sheet.
2. Fold the fabric you have chosen in two (right sides facing each other). The pattern pieces that have the x4 beautifully written on them, you will pin down and cut out twice. Otherwise, pin down and cut as you normally would.
3. Starting by the head, sew the front and backside of face together (remember to put the right side of the fabric facing each other) from the nose all the way to the neck.
4. Now sew the long single head piece (the one you only had to cut 1 piece of fabric for) right side facing each other, to the parts of the face sown together in step #3. Start off from the nose. Once finished, set aside.
5. Sew the 4 parts of the body together (right sides facing) leaving an open space so as to be able to turn inside out later on.
6. Right sides facing, sew the head to the body, making sure the front and side seams match. Sew eyes into place.
7. Turn bear inside out, or right side in (whatever!) and start with the filling until you achieve the desired form. Sew the open space closed (hidden stitches).
8. Right side facing, sew the ears together, leaving space to turn inside out and place filling. Fill in and sew closed. Then attach to head (hidden stitches).
9. Right sides facing sow arms together, leaving open space to turn inside out and place filling. Fill in and sew closed. Set Aside.
10. Repeat step #9 with legs.
11. Sew the arms to the body with thick cotton string (and heavy duty upholstery needle). Remember to leave a firm knot at the end of string before staring to sew.
12. Pass needle through button, then through arm, then body all the way to the other side. Pull taught and firm. Then pass needle through other button and other arm. Tie a firm knot. Depending on how thick your string is, or on how form you want it to feel, you may want to repeat this several times before tying the knots. Repeat operation through second button hole.
13. Repeat step #12 with the legs.
14. Add ribbon to the neck and stitch down so as to prevent it from falling. I gave my bear a pearl necklace and tutu instead of just the bow. This is where you can let your creativity run wild! Go crazy!

Tutoría para Osito de Tela
Versión en español:

Antes que nada, quisiera pedir una disculpa por los patrones hechos a mano, con un pulso de tarde por la noche, y una caligrafía deplorable. ¡Espero no esté demasiado feíto!
Necesitarás:
1. Aproximadamente 1x1 m de tela
2. 4 botones de aprox 12 mm de diámetro
3. 2 ojos de juguete o algún botón coqueto para los ojitos
4. Relleno de poliéster
5. Cinta de 1 metro de largo para el moño ó puedes volverte loca con algún collar y ropita para tu osito!
6. Aguja larga de tapicería
A trabajar:
1. Imprime dos juegos de patrones por sea caso. Traza sobre papel china (o papel cebolla) cada pieza de tu osito.
2. Dobla la tela que has escogido en dos (anverso contra anverso). Los patrones que tiene el x4 bellamente escritos encima, colocarás y cortarás dos veces. Con las demás piezas colocarás y cortarás de manera normal.
3. Empezando por la cabeza, y anverso contra anverso, cose el frente y el revés de la cara, dese la nariz hasta el cuello.
4. Anverso contra anverso, y comenzando por la nariz, cose la pieza larga de la cabeza (la única de la que se corta solo una pieza de tela) a los laterales de la cara.
5. Cose las piezas del cuerpo (anterior y posterior) anverso contra anverso, por las costuras laterales, dejando una apertura para darle la vuelta.
6. Anverso contra anverso, cose la cabeza al cuerpo, emparejando las costuras de las dos piezas. Cose los ojos en su lugar.
7. Da la vuelta al oso y rellénalo hasta que tenga la forma adecuada. Cose la abertura con puntos escondidos.
8. Anverso contra anverso, empareja y cose las orejas a lo largo del borde curvado. Dales la vuelta y rellena ligeramente. Cose el lado recto con puntos escondidos. Cose las orejas en la parte superior de la cabeza.
9. Anverso contra anverso, empareja y cosa los brazos, dejando un trozo abierto. Rellénalos y cose la abertura con puntos escondidos.
10. Repite paso #9 con las piernas.
11. Enhebra la aguja de tapicería con varias hebras de algodón y has un fuerte nudo en el extremo.
12. Pasa la aguja por el botón y luego atraves del brazo y del cuerpo. Tira firmemente de la aguja y pásala por el otro brazo y botón. Remata las hebras con un nudo fuerte y corta los extremos. Realiza la misma operación por el segundo agujero del botón. Repite esto hasta que sienta que los brazos quedan firmemente unidos al cuerpo.
13. Repite el paso #12 con las piernas.
14. Pon un lazo alrededor del cuello y fije con unas puntadas para que no se suelte. En mi caso, opté por un collar de perlas y un tutú. Esta es la parte donde puedes dejar volar la imaginación. ¡Diviértete!

PATTERNS / PATRONES:

This is the only way I knew how to upload the patterns. If anyone can tell me how you can create a link directly to a Word Document, I would be in heaven! I need the help! Meanwhile, I appologize and suggest you copy and paste each group of patterns on to a word document and then enlarge as much as possible. It won´t look nice, but it´s already as ugly as it can get.

Esta es la única manera que logré subir los patrones. Si hay alguien que me pueda explicar cómo crear un link directo a un documento de Word, me haría FELÏZ. ¡Me urge la ayuda! Mientras tanto, sugiero que selecciones, copies y pegues cada grupo de patrones a un documento Word y los agrandes lo más posible. No se va a ver bonito, pero dudo que pudiera estar más feo.
