A Month in photos + Fair Trade Month

Un Mes en Fotos + Mes de Comercio Justo

One month ends, another begins. September ends, and even though it ended with a loss for our family, it was full of sweet moments to be thankful for. October begins and so does Fair Trade Month! This is a particularly favorite one for me because of the fact that my shop, my creations and my designs promote and support fair trade here in Mexico. So let´s celebrate and support!

Un mes termina, otro comienza. Septiembre viene a su fin, y aunque terminó con una perdida para nuestra familia, estuvo lleno de dulces momentos que agradezco desde el fonde de mi corazón. Octubre comienza y de igual forma ¡el Mes del Comercio Justo! Este es uno de mis momentos favoritos ya que mi tienda, mis creaciones y mis diseños promueven y apoyan el comercio justo en México. ¡Así que, a celebrar y apoyar!

 

sept 2012:

• little G "lost" her first little tooth! (she had to have it pulled, boooo) / ¡G chica "perdió" su primer dientecito! (se lo tuvieron que jalar, buuuu)
• a Sunday moment admiring "danzantes" in Tepoztlan / un momento de domingo admirando a los danzantes en Tepoztlán
• a visit to the woods welcoming autumn beauty / una visita al bosque que le ahora le da la bienvenida al otoño con todo su esplendor
• bread baking, vegetable garden tending, sweet afternoon naps and warm hugs... lots / pancito horneado, un huerto cuidado, siestitas a media tarde y dulces abrazos... muchos
• a day with kiddo´s great-grandma, wonderful and rewarding / un día con la bisabuela de los chamakos, maravilloso y pleno
• a sad goodbye / un triste adiós

May october be filled with just as much love. May our tears turn into kind, loving memories and sweet smiles.

Deseo que octubre esté tán lleno de amor como este mes. Que nuestras lágrimas se tornen en sutiles, amorosos recuerdos y dulces sonrisas.

Yesterday: my sister and her band, María Cantú, at location for a photoshoot with my amazingly talented friend Gabriel Rozycki. Little G and Luk♥ma got to be a mini-part of this amazing project: their new albúm cover. Here are bits and pieces of what I was looking at from behind all the action.

Bringing my Lookbook to Life / Dándole vida a mi Lookbook

I´m in the process of bringing Lukuma´s Autumn/Winter 2011-2012 Lookbook to life. Even though it´s going to be a lot of work, I decided to go for an elaborate handmade setting for the actual pictures. I´ll be sharing the steps to this new adventure!

Estoy en el proceso de traer a la vida el Lookbook Otoño/Invierno 2011-2012 de Lukuma. A pesar de que va a ser bastante trabajo opté por un fondo elaborado, hecho a mano para las fotografías. ¡Estaré compartiendo cada paso de esta nueva aventura!

On a different note, last Friday I shared a series a photos I took on "15 de septiembre". I was SO pleasantly surprised to find I had several comments (more than I´m used to) from wonderful women saying the sweetest things about my pics. I don´t know if they realized what a pic-me-up this was for me. I just wanted to tell them all, "¡gracias!". I blog because I love to share. I love to step back and be able to admire my own life and process as a mamita, woman, designer, from a different perspective. I do realize I sometimes simply do not have the time to "promote" my blog, and as a consecuence it can get real lonely here. So, to all you sweet souls: thankyou, thankyou, thankyou...you are just what I needed!


Por otro lado, este viernes compartí unas fotos que tomé sobre el 15 de septiembre. Quedé sorprendida de la manera MÁS agradable al encontrar varios comentarios (más de lo que acostumbro ver) de maravillosas mujeres diciendo las cosas más dulces sobre mis fotografías. No sé si se dieron cuenta de lo esperanzador que esto fue para mi. Sólo quería decir, "¡Gracias!" Blogueo porque amo compartir. Amo poder dar un paso atrás y admirar mi propio proceso como mamita, mujer, diseñadora, desde una perspectiva distinta. Me doy cuenta que a veces simplemente no tengo el tiempo de "promover" mi blog, y como consecuencia puedo llegar a sentirme algo sola aquí. Así que, a todas esas lindas almas: ¡gracias, gracias, gracias, son exactamente lo que me hacía falta!

Lukuma´s Weekend / El fin de semana de Lukuma

 

Lukuma spent this very wet weekend at Bazar Fusión in Mexico City surrounded by a whole lot of rain boots and beautiful, creative people. Here are some pics of our stand. 

Lukuma paso este empapado fin de semana en el Bazar Fusión en la Ciudad de México rodeada por botas de lluvia y gente linda y increíblemente creativa. Aquí algunas fotos de nuestro puesto.

This months project: Lukuma Stand Revamp! (I´m thinking: soft lights, vintage lamp - good luck with that - wall paper background, beautiful sign, easy to move in my car - good luck, once again).

Proyecto de este mes: ¡Renovar el "Stand" de Lukuma! (estoy pensando: luces suaves, lámpara "vintage" - suerte con eso - fonde de papel tapíz antiguo, cartel hermoso, todo transportable - suerte con eso al cuadrado).

 

Meanwhile, I must say I´m happy with Lukuma´s beautiful new creations and all the positive feedback. As of tomorrow, countdown to our next fair!

Mientras tanto, debo admitir que estoy muy contenta con las hermosas nuevas creaciones de Lukuma y la respuesta tan positiva que seguijos recibiendo. A partir de mañana, ¡cuenta regresiva para nuestro siguiente bazar!
