abrazos, risas, otro diente "perdido", amor, una semana santa llena de momentos de risa roquera, silencio y dulzura en familia y mas bendiciones de las esperadas, un susto médico y la oportunidad de deternernos, cambiar de dirección y sentir agradecimiento.

I lagged behind big time on my Month in Photos project. But I´m finally catching up and  now I can breathe easy (I´m not a big fan of procrastination). Four months rolled into one post!

Me retrasé seriamente con mi proyecto de Mes en Fotos. Por fin me estoy poniendo al corriente y ya puedo exhalar (no soy gran fan de dejar las cosas pendientes). ¡Cuatro meses comprimidos en un solo post!

• lots of planning leading to a family Christmas at the beach / mucha planeación que resultó en una Navidad familiar en la playa
• a handmade Christmas, so much sewing and love rolled into lovely little packages / una navidad hecha a mano, tánta costura y amor envualtos en lindos paquetitos
• lots of things moving around, not all so simple: welcoming the new years with a dengue fever / muchas cosas se movieron, no todas de ellas sencillas: recibiendo el año nuevo con dengue

jan-enero/2013

• recovering from dengue and surviving demolition / recuperandonos del dengue y sobreviviendo una demolición
• little G sick, a lot / G chica enferma, demasiado seguido
• sweet family time at the park / dulce tiempo en familia en el parque
• big G learns to skateboard / G grande aprende a andar en patineta

feb/2013 

• demolition survived, followed by days of painting, bickering, bad moods and loads of love after all: home finished (little details still pending) / demolición sobrevivida, seguida por días de pintar, discutir, malos humores y al final de cuentas mucho, mucho amor: casa terminada (pequeños detaliitos aún pendientes)
• getting back o track with my organic shopping ans cooking / volviendo a agarrar el ritmo de mis compras y cocina orgánica
• big G oficially became a eye rolling teenager (a toughy for mama bear) / G grande oficialmente entró a la intolerante pubertad (no tan fácil para mamá oso)
• little sleep-over in G´s new room / una pijamada en el nuevo cuarto de G chica
• family time (visits from Perú!), jumping and laughing / tiempo en familia (¡visitas del Perú!), saltos y risas
• firecrackers in the "backyard". magical / fuergos artificiales en "nuestro jardín". mágico.

Month in Photos: October 2012

 

One more month has gone by, and now November begins. A big month for little G. She turne 7.  We say goodbye to October, a truly beautiful month:

Un mes más ha pasado, y ahora comienza noviembre. Un  mes importante para G chica. Cumple 7. Nos despedimos de octubre, un mes verdaderamente hermoso:

• we jumped on beds / saltamos en la cama
• hugged a great deal / nos abrazamos muuucho
• baked loads of pumpkin bread / horneamos mucho delicioso pan de calabaza
• laughed our silly heads off / reímos como locos
• chased chickens out of our veggie garden / perseguí gallinas en nuestro huerto
• went to an awsome circus / fuimos a un circo increíble
• put together our altar for Day of the Dead / armamos nuestro altar de Día de Muertos
• Little G quickly and succesfully got over a day of fever with only homeopathic medicine / G chica rápidamente triunfó sobre una fiebre con solo homeopatía
• I made the most of a bunch of organic apples (juice, apple sauce, vinager and sun dried apples!) / aproveché al máximo un montón de manzanas orgánicas (jugo, puré, vinagre y manzanas deshidratadas!)
• I made peace with myself in a wonderful way / hice las paces conmigo misma de una manera maravillosa
• I wrote my first 2 educational posts for big G on "why we choose the (green) life we do" (post 1 / post 2)/ escribí los primeros 2 posts educacionales para G grande sobre "porqué vivimos la vda (verde) que vivimos" (post 1 / post 2)

A Month in photos + Fair Trade Month

Un Mes en Fotos + Mes de Comercio Justo

One month ends, another begins. September ends, and even though it ended with a loss for our family, it was full of sweet moments to be thankful for. October begins and so does Fair Trade Month! This is a particularly favorite one for me because of the fact that my shop, my creations and my designs promote and support fair trade here in Mexico. So let´s celebrate and support!

Un mes termina, otro comienza. Septiembre viene a su fin, y aunque terminó con una perdida para nuestra familia, estuvo lleno de dulces momentos que agradezco desde el fonde de mi corazón. Octubre comienza y de igual forma ¡el Mes del Comercio Justo! Este es uno de mis momentos favoritos ya que mi tienda, mis creaciones y mis diseños promueven y apoyan el comercio justo en México. ¡Así que, a celebrar y apoyar!

 

sept 2012:

• little G "lost" her first little tooth! (she had to have it pulled, boooo) / ¡G chica "perdió" su primer dientecito! (se lo tuvieron que jalar, buuuu)
• a Sunday moment admiring "danzantes" in Tepoztlan / un momento de domingo admirando a los danzantes en Tepoztlán
• a visit to the woods welcoming autumn beauty / una visita al bosque que le ahora le da la bienvenida al otoño con todo su esplendor
• bread baking, vegetable garden tending, sweet afternoon naps and warm hugs... lots / pancito horneado, un huerto cuidado, siestitas a media tarde y dulces abrazos... muchos
• a day with kiddo´s great-grandma, wonderful and rewarding / un día con la bisabuela de los chamakos, maravilloso y pleno
• a sad goodbye / un triste adiós

May october be filled with just as much love. May our tears turn into kind, loving memories and sweet smiles.

Deseo que octubre esté tán lleno de amor como este mes. Que nuestras lágrimas se tornen en sutiles, amorosos recuerdos y dulces sonrisas.

The last days of this past month were very hectic and i didn´t get the chance to do my Month in Photos (which I love to do because it puts things in beautiful perspective). So I decided: better late than never!

Los últimos días de este pasado mes fueron sumamente caóticos y no tuve oportunidad de hacer mi Mes en Fotos (que adoro hacer porque pone las cosas en una hermosa perspectiva). Así que decidí: ¡mejor tarde que nunca!

August / Agosto 2012:

• Mr. B took one of his long meditation courses. 12 days without him. Counted. Missed. But sweetly. / El Sr. B tomó uno de sue cursos largos de meditación. 12 días sin el. Contaditos. Lo extrañamos. Pero con dulzura.
• We said goodbye to summer with a long swim and hours of sunshine! / ¡Nos despedimos del verano con una nadada y horas de sol!
• Lots of crocheting, cuddles and quiet time. / Mucho crochet, abracitos y momentos de tranquilidad.
• A family event and a great excuse for silly time! / Un evento familiar y ¡la perfecta excusa para ser ridículos!
• I made little G her backpack. She got ready to become a big girl starting 1st grade! / Le hice su mochila a G chic. Ella se preparó para convertirse en niña grande de 1ero de primaria!
• Big G began 7th grade! Big deal here! / ¡G grande comenzó la secundaria! Todo un suceso por aquí!
• My embroideries came back down from the mountain, transformed into absolute beauties and my wonderful project finally got on it´s way! / Mis bordados regresaron de la sierra, convertidos en absolutas bellezas ¡y mi hermoso proyecto porfin tomó vuelo!
• I turned 36! (and got my amazing camera as a gift from the most amazing husband!) / Cumplí 36 (y recibí una increíble cámara de más increíble de los esposos!)

♥ we love snail mail: kiddo´s have new pen pals! / amamos el correo a la antigua: ¡los chamacos tienen nuevos amigos por correspondencia!

♥ big G couldn´t get his head out of his history magazines (this happens everyday, but this time I happened to take a picture of it) / G grande no pudo sacar su cabeza de sus revistas de historia (esto pasa todos los días, pero esta vez logré tomarle foto)

♥ We had our photoshoot for our Luk♥ma spring-summer 2012 lookbook. Little G fell out of a tree./ Hicimos nuestro fotoshoot para el lookbook primavera verano de Luk♥ma. Pequeña G se cayó de un árbol.

♥ big G drew and drew and finally finished mama´s tattoo design! / G grande dibujó y dibujó y ¡finalmente terminó el diseño del tatuaje de mamita!
